After one of the worst fall tours in this club's history, we showed signs of life at our last event of 2009. We ended up just one entry short of a sell out at Classic Bowl yesterday with 5 & 6 on a pair both squads. The shot was fair, with a winning handicap score of 688, and low to cash of 629. Tanate Kusub won his 2nd 2009 title and 4th overall by edging out Raffy Tanada by one pin. We're really looking forward to the Year End Championships that start New Year's Day at Stardust Bowl. Congratulations to Tanate Kusub for winning todays sweeper at Classic Bowl with a 688. Low to cash was 629.

I found out yesterday by a group email with a two word message "Funeral Services", that long time member Tyrone Reese had passed away earlier in the week. The message came with this attachment Service Information
Ty survived a very serious auto accident a couple of years back. I'm not sure if his passing was a delayed result of those injuries, but it really makes one take pause. We've lost so many over the past few years. It started with Mo Kolcz, then Louis Brown, Burnell Robinson, Nixon Pena, Art Abalos, and now Ty. My wish for the new year is that I do not have to make this type of announcement in 2010.
